Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter for WPDE-TV. Later, she was a morning news anchor and crime reporter for WCBD-TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston about the police's leniency when it comes to DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. The result was state authorities issuing more strict guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell has worked at Charleston reporting, was a co-anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving to Access Hollywood where she is currently a co-anchor and correspondent during weekends. O'Dell, in addition to anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Also, she co-hosted Miss USA's pageant, as in addition to the Miss Universe Pageant.
